Chen Gongde, Leading Scholar, Research Fellow and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Journalism and New Media, Xi'an Jiaotong University, is 60 years old. He holds a PhD in Communication Studies from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His professional roles have included Director of the Industry Research Institute under the National Radio and Television Administration; Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Xi'an Qujiang New District; Chairman of the Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Industry Investment Group; and Director of the Shaanxi Cultural Industry Investment Group. He has published dozens of research papers in academic journals including Journalism & Communication , Modern Media, Renmin University Reprint Materials, Xinhua Digest, and China Cultural Industry Review. He has led teams in creating television and film productions including The Qin Empire, White Deer Plain, Chongfenghao, and The Musician. His cultural tourism projects encompass the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever Bright City, Tang Paradise, Xi'an City Wall, and Daming Palace National Heritage Park. He has also produced theatrical performances such as the Qinqiang opera The Bride of Liuhe Bay. Multiple works have received national honours including the “Five Ones Project” Award.
